How Many Wives Earn More Than Their Husbands?

The percentage of American wives earning more than their husbands has slowly increased in the past decade, but husbands still are overwhelmingly bringing home the bacon, according to Statista.

According to data, 29.3 percent of wives earned more than their husbands in 2013.

According to data compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 29.3 percent of wives earned more than their husbands in 2013 (in families in which both wives and husbands have earnings). Compared to 1987, when 17.8 percent of U.S. wives brought home more money than their husbands.
