Westchester residents can still donate new or used books, sports equipment, school supplies and cell phones to children in need through Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Westchester County teamed up with the National Football League and the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee last month to be a part of the project.
About a dozen Westchester schools and the local nonprofit organization Let’s Play it Forward also joined the effort.
The NFL added a new feature to this year’s collection with the “HopeLine” program, collecting used cell phones to be donated to domestic violence prevention organizations and local shelters.
Super Kids-Super Sharing will culminate on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Riverbank State Park in Harlem, where several students and coordinators from each participating school are invited to attend and deliver the items collected.
Representatives from the NFL, New York Jets, New York Giants and the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee will be on hand.
Participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy the “Huddle Shuttle,” an interactive display that will give them a chance to test their own football skills.
The County Center is at 198 Central Ave. in White Plains. Email Elena Rogliano or call her at 914- 995-2932 to get involved or learn more.
