Cuomo Approves Quicker Access To Marijuana For Terminally Ill

ALBANY, N.Y. -- With New York's medical marijuana program due to start next year, Gov. Andrew Cuomo approved a law to give terminally ill patients in the state speedier access to the drug, according to Time Warner Cable News' State of Politics.

It is not known yet where the marijuana will come from since the five companies that have licenses to produce and dispense the drug may not be ready by 2016, the story said.

In approving the expedited program, Cuomo indicated companies licensed in New York may be able to import the drugs from other states that have similar programs in place, the story said.
