Since the pandemic began in early March out of New Rochelle, there have now been 37,634 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Westchester out of 600,891 tested. The percentage of positive results has dropped from 7 percent last week to 6.3 percent as of Wednesday, Sept. 16.
There was one new fatality, meaning there have been 1,453 COVID-19-related deaths in Westchester.
A breakdown of the total, active, and new COVID-19 cases in Westchester, by municipality as of Sept. 16, according to the Department of Health:
- Yonkers: 7,822 (115 active, 9 new);
- New Rochelle: 3,271 (52, 4 new);
- Mount Vernon: 2,875 (25, 3 new);
- White Plains: 1,962 (27, 2 new);
- Port Chester: 1,339 (10);
- Greenburgh: 1,271 (18, 4 new);
- Ossining Village: 1,127 (16);
- Peekskill: 1,064 (8);

Statewide, 9,530,416 New Yorkers have been tested for COVID-19 as of Wednesday, Sept. 16, resulting in 446,366 cases. There have been 25,410 virus-related deaths in New York.
