Cops Say Yonkers Man Stole $215 in Baby Formula

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Wal-Mart's loss prevention team alerted police after an employee said she watched a 28-year-old Yonkers man steal $214.44 worth of baby formula from the White Plain store.

Jason Lewis was detained at the store after an employee said she saw him stash eight Enfamil powder formulas and 12 Enfamil liquid formulas in a Marshalls bag and leave the Wal-Mart Thursday.

Police arrested Lewis and charged him with once count of petite larceny, a misdemeanor.

Officers discovered Lewis had an outstanding warrant from the New York City Police Department related to a misdemeanor seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charge.

However, the warrant squad was told to return Friday because Lewis had a seizure at the police car parking lot and was sent to the emergency room.
