WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains police said they arrested a Rye City School District employee Saturday evening after discovering what they believe was cocaine on him.
Officers say they discovered a plastic bag with a white, powdery substance on Carlos Huanca, 26, of White Plains, on S. Lexington Avenue. Huanca was charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Police made two additional cocaine-related arrested this weekend, including:
- Police say Porter House bouncers tipped them off Sunday morning when bar employees threw a man out of the Mamaroneck Avenue bar. The bouncers said the man had been caught snorting cocaine in the bathroom and still had the drug on him.
Officers say Richard Galante, 23, of Yonkers, told police the cocaine was in his left coat pocket. Police then recovered a plastic bag containing a white powder that officers said appeared to be cocaine.
Galante was arrested and charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
- A homeless man who police said they believe was dealing cocaine on S. Lexington Avenue was arrested and charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, early Saturday morning.
Officers said they saw Marcus Attaway, 25, perch on the railing outside of 135 S. Lexington Ave. until another man came and Attaway handed the man something from his jacket pocket in exchange for money.
Police then asked Attaway if he had illegal drugs. Police reports indicate the 25-year-old denied having drugs, however, officers said they found a folded $10 bill with a white powder that appeared to be cocaine in his jacket pocket.
