The National Weather Service is predicting the cooler, windy weather will last through Saturday, with high temperatures in the 50s today then only making it to the 40s on Saturday.

Winds are expected to be strongest today at 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. Windy conditions continue through Saturday, though not at the same clip.

Saturday's wind will be 15 to 20 mph, but gusts could be as much as 30 mph, the National Weather Service said. On both days, winds will be strongest along the coastal areas of southeastern New York, northeastern New Jersey and southern Connecticut.

The skies are expected to be mostly sunny, though low pressure from Canada will bring clouds in Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
