Researchers published their work this month, noting that the substance -- present in Pacific beetle cockroaches, the only species that births live babies instead of eggs -- is very nutritious, with high levels of protein, fat and sugar, according to CNN.
Leonard Chavas, one of the researchers, said that, comparing equal masses, the substance has quadruple the energy of cow milk, CNN reported. But there is a lot of work, yet, in bringing this "milk" to market. In the meantime, Chavas has contemplated uses and thinks ice cream might be nice -- flavored with honey and crispy bits.
