Almost 70 percent of Americans won’t receive a nonperformance-based bonus at the end of 2015 according to the website statista.com. Less than 25 percent of people polled even expect a bonus.

Other statistics:

  • 3 percent of bonuses go to non-executive employees
  • 4 percent go to executives
  • 24 percent of bonuses are given all employees

Of people who get bonuses, 35 percent said they are putting the money toward savings, while 22 percent said it’s going toward paying off debt, according to a Bankrate survey. Another 19 percent are using the money to pay their bills, the survey says.
