The performance, originally scheduled for Nov. 13 last year, begins at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets go from $49.50, $79.50, $99.50 and $149.50 and may still be purchased at www.wmconcerts.com.

"I’m there to give the best performance I can," Franklin said in a statement. "The idea is to be as uplifting as possible and as inspiring to people as possible so they are glad they came and they leave with something that helps them throughout their day and on their way."

The performance will be part of the Pepe Infiniti Concert Series at the County Center.

"It feels like we're going to be witnesses to history," said Irwin Kornfeld, CEO of WM Concerts. "It's Aretha."

Franklin is to be inducted into the Gospel Music Association's Hall of Fame in August, and her list of accomplishments dates back decades. In 1987 she was the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She has 20 Grammy Awards, five American Music Awards and four NAACP Image Awards, and she is the 2005 recipient of a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Additionally, she is working on a new album with Clive Davis that will be produced by Babyface, and a biopic of her life is currently in the works. Denzel Washington and Jamie Foxx are being considered for the part of Franklin's father, and Jennifer Hudson and Audra McDonald are being considered to play the Queen of Soul herself, reports have said.
