Amber Alert That Included Westchester For Abducted 10-Year-Old Is Canceled

The Amber Alert that included Westchester and Putnam for Celine Melanie Hicks has been canceled, authorities said.

The 10-year-old has been found safe.

No further information was immediately available.

An Amber Alert that includes Westchester and Putnam has been issued for a 10-year-old girl who may be in danger after she was abducted by her non-custodial parents from Castle Middle School on Henry Street on the Lower East Side at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

Celine Melanie Hicks was picked up by her mother, Jacqueline Hendricks, 40, who does not have custody of the girl, who lives with another family member. Police believe the girl is also now with her father Carlos Hicks, 42. Both Carlos and Jacqueline Hicks have a history of violence, police said.

Celine is 5-foot-4, 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a school uniform of a yellow shirt with Castle Middle School embroidered on the front.

Carlos Hicks is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds.

Jacqueline Hendricks is a black female with black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5-foot-6 inches and about 185 pounds.

The vehicle has been identified as a white four-door sedan Chevy Lumina with New Mexico license plate number NGG506.

The vehicle was last seen traveling on streets in Bronx possibly heading for New Mexico.
