Accused White Plains Pill-Dealing Psychiatrist Home On $125K Bail

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A young Yonkers teacher is dead of an overdose and the 78-year-old Monroe psychiatrist accused of being his dealer is home, following his bail hearing Friday, Jan. 8, reported lohud.com.

The hearings dragged on as officials debated money and flight risk for Alfred Ramirez, M.D., who has ample funds and real estate, said lohud. Bail was set at $1.25 million, and he will be under house arrest, according to lohud.com.

He is accused of selling more than 10,000 Oxycodone prescriptions, including some to undercover agents who have audio and video evidence, says lohud.com.

Teacher Daren Gajdusek, 31, died from an overdose of Oxycodone and alprazolam on March 23 and prescriptions from Ramirez were among his possessions, according to lohud.com.
