Accidents Cause Delays On I-287, Sprain

A multi-vehicle accident that initally resulted in the closure of two lanes on a stretch of I-287 caused heavy delays during the Friday evening commute.

The 5 p.m. accident, at the I-95 interchange, reportedly involved an automobile and small bus.

Stop-and-go delays stretched back to Route 120A/Bowman Avenue (Exit 10) in Port Chester.

Nearby, a 5:15 p.m. accident initially blocked the left lane on the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway at I-287, causing backups to Jackson Avenue.
