The numbers, from an annual safety report released by the International Air Transport Association last week, show that of the 68 airline accidents out of 37.6 million flights, only four of those had fatalities, and those were in turboprop aircraft, said Quartz.
There is a caveat though, the report did not count two of the year's most prominent air disasters, the Germanwings crash in which a co-pilot flew the plane into a mountainin the French Alps, committing suicide and killing 140 others, or the Russian Metrojet which was destroyed by a bomb over the Sinai Peninsula, killing 220, because they were considered deliberate acts, and not accidents, added Quartz.
