The short-term goal of her 12-week fitness journey is fitting into a particular silk dress that has been hanging in the deep, dark recesses of her closet. Her long-term goal is overall better health and physical fitness.
She officially kicked off her journey by stepping off on the treadmill with her personal assistant and her dietitian at her side, surrounded by YMCA day care children holding "Go Cindy!" banners and YMCA staff members cheering her on.
With the support and assistance of YMCA personal fitness director Dan Libertino, ShopRite Supermarkets retail dietitian In Jung Cassaday, and medical technology major students from College of Westchester, Rubino will chronicle her journey on a daily basis through Y social media.
Through the combination of the YMCA’s 12-week personal fitness program, healthy eating tips from ShopRite and monitoring of her vitals from College of Westchester medical students, Rubino will whittle her waist, lose inches and pounds, and adopt new healthy eating habits, while lowering her cholesterol and maintaining a healthy blood pressure.
“My goal is to be a role model to other women and men that they can achieve their healthy fitness goals too and that our YMCA is the perfect location to start your own personal fitness journey,” Rubino said.
CEO Cindy’s Fitness Journey can be tracked on her Facebook page.
The culmination of her 12-week journey will be a V is for Victory celebration at the YMCA at 250 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, which will be open to the public. The date of the celebration will be announced.
