White Plains' Spinelli to be Remembered

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Joseph G. Spinelli, a carpenter and Westchester Community College retiree, will be honored Friday.

Spinelli, a lifelong White Plains resident, died on Aug. 16 at the age of 82. The son of Antonio and Elena Spinelli, he graduated from  White Plains High School in 1946.

He worked as a carpenter and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America at Local Union 11. Spinelli worked for Westchester Community College until his retirement.

He is survived by his sisters Mary Spinelli, Ida Turner and Ginny Falzarano, brothers, Gino Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli, Victor Spinelli and Ernest Spinelli, as well as 24 nieces and nephews. Spinelli was predeceased by his brother Anthony Spinelli, and his sisters Sandy Lidke, Gloria Benedetto and Stella Spinelli.

Friends and family may visit Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains. The funeral mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in White Plains, with Interment immediately following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Greenburgh.
