White Plains Receptionist Helen Jordan Dies at 80

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Longtime White Plains resident, Helen Margaret Jordan died Jan. 10 at White Plains Medical Center. She was 80.

She was born Nov. 24, 1931 in Sunnyside, Queens, N.Y. to the late Thomas and Ellen Lynch and raised in Bronx, N.Y. She attended Morris High School and married Dennis Jordan, who predeceased her in 2009. 

For the last 21 years, Jordan worked as the head receptionist and clerical assistant at White Plains Center for Nursing Care, where she was close with patients and staff alike. 

Jordan is survived by her daughters Joanne Jordan of Chapel Hill, N.C., Jacqueline Moussavi of Ridgefield, Conn. and Janine Jordan-Covert of White Plains, son John Jordan of Middletown, N.Y., sister Mary Boylan-Greenan of Mt. Vernon, brother Thomas Lynch of Nanuet, N.Y., a brother-in-law and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother John Lynch and her sister Catherine Keevins.

A memorial service will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Hawthorne Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church in White Plains.
