White Plains Honored for Creating Smoke-Free Parks

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Local anti-tobacco organizations held a "Young Lungs at Play" event at Chatterton Park Saturday to recognize White Plains for initiating smoking bans in 22 parks and open spaces this summer. 

POW'R Against Tobacco Coalition presented Councilman Dennis Powers with a plaque honoring White Plains for its efforts to reduce youth smoking.
