WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Frederick R. Schmitt, of White Plains and Eastham, Mass., died April 27. He was 83.
He was born July 22, 1928 to Fred and Eleanor Schenck Schmitt in Queens, N.Y. A graduate of Fordham University, Schmitt retired from General Re-Insurance Corporation in Stamford, Conn, as second vice president.
Schmitt is survived by his wife Mary Marin Schmitt, of White Plains; two daughters, Karen (Robert O'Grady) Schmitt, of Philadelphia, and Dolores (David) Tesoro, of LaGrangeville, N.Y.; two sons, Paul Schmitt, of Maricopa, Ariz., and Victor Schmitt, of Sleepy Hollow; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Hawthorne Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford, Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
