Fraser was a member of the Y community for 24 years until her sudden passing from cancer in January. Stewart Greenfield, Boris' husband, cut the ribbon and gave a moving speech, surrounded by their children and grandchildren.

“Doris Fraser Greenfield was a true Y story," said Cindy Rubino, CEO of YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester. "She came to the Y as a single mom and discovered a community that was welcoming and supportive. In turn, she inspired others to do great things every day. We thank the many donors who helped us create this truly exceptional learning space in honor and memory of Doris.”

White Plains YMCA Director of Childcare Services, Sara Frontera took the lead in the space redesign; incorporating educational toys and technology with attractive design elements to create a special environment for children.
