Feb. 28, Chinese New Year Celebration, Pelham Arts Center, Pelham: A host of family-friendly activities commemorate the new year. Choose from a paper craft workshop (from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.), or sit ringside when members of Kwan’s Kung Fu, a group from Peekskill, will perform a traditional Lion Dance, believed in Chinese culture to scare away evil spirits and to bring good luck. March 1, Arts Westchester, White Plains: Arts Westchester, in partnership with the Organization of Chinese Americans of Westchester & Hudson Valley, is featuring a host of visual-arts displays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. including the East River Ensemble silk and bamboo instrumental music, musicians Isabel Peng and Ariane Kuo, Kwan’s Kung Fu Lion Dance Ensemble from Peekskill and more.
