The eighth edition of Dietary Guidelines offers recommendations such as consuming less added sugar and saturated fat and not mixing caffeine with alcohol, according to Consumerist.com

The guidelines also do not make an explicit statement to reduce red meat intake, and approval to give coffee with limited sweeteners, Consumerist.com reported.
