"Living Well” Program Empowers White Plains Seniors

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. --  Wartburg, a senior-services facility in Mount Vernon, invites seniors on Saturday, Oct. 26 to learn about the Livable Communities Living Well program, which teaches older adults how to manage chronic diseases, on Saturday.

The event is free and starts at 2 p.m. in the Friedrichs Residence Community Room on the Wartburg campus, located at 1 Wartburg Place Mount Vernon, N.Y.

Chronic conditions to be addressed Saturday include arthritis, high-blood pressure, pain, depression and diabetes.

Attendees will also be able to sign up at this event for Living Well classes, which meet for 2 1/2 hours a week for six weeks.

Living Well, a program of the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services (DSPS), is for adults aged 55 and older. Living Well empowers seniors to understand more about the importance of physical activity, exercise and healthy eating.
