Toontown native Mickey Mouse turns 88 today.
Mickey Mouse made his animated debut in "Steamboat Willie" by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. on Nov. 18, 1928.
Mickey is the official mascot of the Walt Disney company and has appeared in over 130 films and on countless merchandising items. He is often alongside his girlfriend Minnie Mouse, friends Donald Duck and Goofy and pet dog Pluto.
He is the first cartoon character to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ten of his films have been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
