Yes, apple crumb pie — the same slab served by Chief Baker Rob Brigati at White Post Farms in Melville, just outside Lavine’s district, the website said. The business won two awards in the 2015 American Pie Council’s National Pie Championship, including one for its old-fashioned apple crumb Pie, the website said.

Brigati said he reached out to Lavine after returning from the contest in Florida, where an American Pie Council representative said many states were getting into the official-pie-picking game, the website said.

The bill, which is currently before the Assembly’s governmental operations committee, currently has no Senate sponsor, the website said.
