Benjamin Steak House, White Plains
What Makes It A Cut Above: The restaurant, which also has a Manhattan location, uses the best types of meat available - think 28-day dry aged, Pat LaFreida USDA Prime beef. The meat is dry-aged in Chef McLeod’s specially handcrafted aging boxes which carefully keeps the precise temperature and humidity level for a minimum of 28 days. This, said a spokesperson, makes the meat tender and delicious.
Benjamin's is also known for its knowledgeable staff that bends over backwards to accommodate all requests, its consistency when it comes to food and service and it's hands-on management. Citizen reviewers rave about it's vibrant, but understated atmosphere in which one can carry on a private conversation.
