Robert Randolph and the Family Band serves up American funk and soul led by Pedal Steel Guitarist Robert Randolph, named by Rolling Stone as one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. The band also plays at every Friday night New York Knicks basketball game. Their song, "Moving in the Right Direction" has been used prior to many NFL games on television.
The Record Company, the opening band, is a three-man blues based group from California who has opened for acts as diverse as B.B. King, Social Distortion, Buddy Guy, Grace Potter, and Trombone Shorty. Their first full-length album "Give It Back To You" was released on Concord Records in February.
"Our birthday concerts have always been special and this one, with Robert Randolph, one of the premiere pedal steel guitar players in the world, is surely going to be an amazing experience," said Scarsdale resident Jimmy Fink, afternoon personality and host of The Peak's 10@10. "I'm excited to see and hang out at The Cap with all our listeners and fans too."
