The White Plains Jazz Fest is a six-day festival from Saturday, Sept. 2 to Sunday, Sept. 7, held in collaboration between the City of White Plains, ArtsWestchester, and the White Plains BID.
Now in its third year, the event has expanded from three days of performances to a six-day festival that includes Latin, smooth, classic and contemporary styles of jazz.
The festival features performances by accomplished musicians throughout White Plains in a variety of venues.
It will kick off with an opening reception at Elements Restaurant & Bar, where a $10 cover charge include food and Latin jazz with pianist Gilberto ‘Pulpo’ Colon and his trio.
White Plains Public Library will also be hosting a jazz poetry slam featuring The Duende Project.
The festival will culminate with the White Plains Jazz and Food Festival on Sept. 7, a block party which will feature Lynette Washington and Dennis Bell Jazz NY, Mark Morganelli Jazz Forum Brazil Project with Monika Oliveira and Eddie Monteiro, two-time Grammy nominee percussionist and bandleader Bobby Sanabria and more.
