White Plains Microsoft Store Opening To Feature Lenny Kravitz

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The Microsoft retail store scheduled to open in The Westchester on Sept. 28 will have a very special guest that weekend – Lenny Kravitz.

The new retail store is one of 32 opening around the country in anticipation of its new operating system, Windows 8, in October. A 10:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting will mark the official opening of the store. Tickets to see Lenny Kravitz will be given out at that time.

Microsoft said it will donate more than $1 million in software at the grand opening to local organizations, yet to be named, that help create opportunities for local youth. Microsoft said organizations that have been selected for this grant in other areas include the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club.

Kravitz will perform near the store, likely in the parking lot, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., Microsoft said. Gates open at 5 p.m.
