NerdWallet analyzed data from 83 communities with populations of more than 10,000 people and more than 500 businesses then ranked them based on the overall business climate and local economic health.
Harrison and White Plains ranked fifth and sixth, respectively. Mount Kisco wasn't far behind, ranking ninth in the state.
Harrison led the way due to its concentration of large corporations, many of which are located in the hamlet of Purchase, including Transamerica Retirement Solutions and MasterCard.
White Plains had the most businesses of any municipality in the survey with 9,387 and an annual average revenue of $1.5 million per business, NerdWallet said.
Mount Kisco sat on the other end of the population spectrum. With just 10,936 residents, it was the smallest on the list, but boasts more than 17 businesses per 100 people.
The top town in New York was Suffern in Rockland County.
