County Executives Robert Astorino and Maryellen Odell jointly appointed Simard to the Board at the recommendation of Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester.

Simard has been active in Westchester County’s ongoing initiative to revitalize the workforce and provide resources for individuals, businesses and young people. He worked with Astorino, to launch the Hire Westchester program from the InspiriaMedia offices during the summer of 2014.

Simard is now a board member and Vice Chair of the Performance and Accountability Committee. It is because of this background and dedication to the ongoing training of the workforce of the future, and InspiriaMedia’s use of the toolkit to staff their own agency, that Simard was assigned to the WPWBD board.

“I attribute this honor to our success with job creation using the One-Stop Career Center programs,” Simard commented. “I'm excited to work on job creation. It's a passion and we're facing such enormous challenges with skills gaps as a society.”
