"We applaud the County Executive for holding the line on taxes, protecting the county’s bond rating without resorting to fiscal gimmicks and continuing to preserve essential services in a responsible manner that will help all of us as we promote economic development in Westchester County," Marsha Gordon, president and chief executive officer, of The Business Council said in a statement.
This marks the fourth year in a row Astorino's proposal has not included an increase in the tax levy. The proposed budget calls for a less than 1 percent increase in spending over the 2013 budget.
"The Business Council of Westchester looks forward to continuing to work with the County Executive to advocate for real mandate relief in Albany," Gordon said in the statement. "We believe that County Executive Astorino has laid out a thoughtful and prudent road map to keep the county’s fiscal house in order."
