'Dedicated To Her Job, Community': Town Employee From Hudson Valley Dies After Cancer Battle A dedicated town employee and mother to two from Westchester County died on Saturday, Oct. 8 after a brave battle with cancer.  Carol Truance of Port Chester died at the age of 77, according to her obituary.  Truance served the town of Rye as deputy tax receiver for more than 30 years, and also heavily volunteered in her community, according to a GoFundMe page set up in her name. ID Released For Teen Killed In I-84 Crash A teenager who was killed in a fiery crash on I-84 has been identified. Danbury resident Liam Declan Devine, 17, was driving west on I-84 shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 near Exit 9 in Newtown when he lost control of his vehicle, Connecticut State Police said. Devine traveled through the grass out of control, over an embankment and into a tree. When Devine struck the tree, his vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
