Brookside Auto & Towing sent a heavy-duty wrecker to Rockleigh to right the rig after the Piermont Road mishap. New Milford sent its Hazardous Materials Unit to handle the fuel spill. Jaws Of Life Used To Save Truck Driver After Crash Into Pole In Area A garbage truck driver was rescued after losing control of his truck, taking down several utility poles and becoming entrapped in the truck. The incident took place around noon on Wednesday, Feb. 6 on Linda Court in the village of Montebello, said the Ramapo Police Department on Facebook. The truck hit a utility pole and tension within wires snapped two additional utility poles, they said. Route 9W southbound is also closed in Orangetown due to a downed tree, police said. Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed early Friday as the tree blocked both lanes of travel south of I-87 in Orangetown, Orangetown Police said.
