Woman Nabbed Shoplifting $1K In Goods From Orange County Stores, Police Say A 36-year-old Hudson Valley woman was nabbed for allegedly shoplifting more than $1,000 in goods from various stores after a police pursuit. Westchester County resident Analda Robertson, of Mount Vernon, was charged on Sunday, Jan. 21, after New York State Police were notified by a manager of an Orange County Price Chopper store in Wallkill that she left the store with a cart full of items without paying, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Robertson was spotted placing the items in a 2008 Volvo XC90. A trooper located the car on Crystal Run Road in Wallkill and attempted a traffic stop, Nevel said.…

Police: Motorist With Suspended License Issued 12 Tickets After Trying To Elude Troopers A Hudson Valley man was arrested for fleeing from police and issued 12 tickets. Rockland County resident Jeremy Singh, age 24, of the town of Haverstraw, was arrested on Tuesday, March 16, after being stopped by state police driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla on Route 202 in Haverstraw, Trooper Steven Nevel said. According to Nevel,  when the trooper initiated the stop, Singh failed to comply and fled the area. The vehicle entered the Palisades Interstate Parkway southbound and began driving in and out of traffic in a reckless and unsafe manner while reaching a top speed of 85 mph.  T…

Area Attorney Gets Probation For Ticket/Zoning Fixing A Rockland County lawyer was sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to one count of official misconduct for fixing traffic tickets and zoning violations. Lawrence Weissman, 56, of Sloatsburg, was sentenced Friday following his guilty plea, said Rockland District Attorney Thomas Zugibe.  Weissman, an attorney with offices in West Nyack, was appointed as special prosecutor by the Village of Spring Valley Board of Trustees in 2016. As the special prosecutor, Weissman was in charge of reviewing traffic tickets and zoning violations for the village, the DA's Office said. Form…
