A Hudson Valley school bus driver has been charged with reckless endangerment after an investigation into a 9-year-old boy being hit by a truck after getting off the bus.
Rockland County resident Edgar Hawkins, age 61, of Stony Point, was charged on Thursday, July 20, for the incident which took place on Tuesday, March 21 in Ramapo.

Fatal Fire: 2 Escape Jail After Blaze Claiming Lives Of Rockland Firefighter, Other Man
Two rabbis who pleaded guilty to a fatal fire at an adult home in the Hudson Valley have escaped jail time through a plea deal.
Rockland County residents Nathaniel Sommer, age 72, of Monsey, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, June 20 to two counts of second-degree manslaughter and is expected to be sentenced to five years probation, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh.
His son, Aaron Sommer, age 29, also of Monsey, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree reckless endangerment, which carries a sentence of three years probation, Walsh added.

A 29-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading New York State Police troopers on a highway chase before intentionally striking two police vehicles, authorities said.
The incident began at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, March 2, when troopers in Greene County attempted to stop Angelo Paradiso, of Palenville, for a traffic violation on the northbound Thruway near Catskill, according to state police.
Paradiso, who was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt, allegedly refused to stop and a chase ensued.

Ulster County resident, Matthew A. Dequarto, age 23, of Rosendale, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 16, for the Monday, Tuesday, Feb. 13 assault, said Lt. Joseph Sciutto of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office.
On Feb. 13, deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a woman screaming for help on Springtown Road in the town of Rosendale.

A Hudson Valley man has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of two men inside an area restaurant.
The incident took place in Rockland County on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, in Haverstraw at the P&D Seafood restaurant at 9 Main St.
Haverstraw police responded to the area of 9 Main St., on a report of shots fired in the area, said Capt. John Gould Jr., of the Haverstraw Police.
