Sullivan County resident Ralph Mann, age 37, of Barryville, was sentenced on Thursday, Jan. 4 in Orange County Court to four years in prison followed by two years of post-rekease supervision. 'Deepfake' Targeted Law Proposed By NY DA A New York district attorney has unveiled a plan to propose new legislation that would protect citizens in the event that their personal images are digitally manipulated for sexual content. Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly hopes that her proposal, called the “Digital Manipulation Protection Act,” would close any loopholes left open by the current New York State law. Ulster County resident Crystal Thomas, age 33, of Highland, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 4, said the town of Lloyd Police. According to Chief James Janso, of the town of Lloyd, Thomas allowed her juvenile child to get a large permanent ink tattoo on his body at a hotel in Lloyd. The unidentified 31-year-old Ulster County resident, from Ellenville, was apprehended around 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11 on an active warrant by members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. An investigation revealed the man was in the company of two minors and he failed to make notification of his address change as required by New York State law.
