Teacher Hired In Orange County After Alleged Sexual Relationship With Student In Other District A Hudson Valley school district is defending its decision to hire a teacher who allegedly sexually assaulted a student in another district just days before a civil suit was filed.  The lawsuit accuses the former teacher in Northern Westchester of grooming a then 16-year-old student at Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt to have sexual relations on school grounds. The Monroe-Woodbury School District said that a Monroe-Woodbury High School student tested positive.  As a result, the high school has switched to remote learning from Wednesday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 16.
