Man Accused Of Falsely Reporting An Incident Involving Handgun In Area, Police Say
A 21-year-old man was arrested after allegedly falsely reporting an incident involving a handgun in Dutchess County. Kyle Ropeter, of Wilton, New York, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 8, after New York State Police responded to the town of Stanford for a report of a person with a handgun, said Trooper AJ Hicks. When troopers responded an investigation found that Ropeter had falsely reported the incident, Hicks said. He was charged with falsely reporting an incident and released on an appearance ticket.

Police: Rockland Woman Admits To Making Fake 911 Call To Get Revenge With Man Who Owed Money
A woman seeking revenge against a man who owed her money admitted to making a phony 911 call in Rockland County, police said. On Tuesday, July 14, the Ramapo Police Department received an emergency call from a woman who reported that a group of five men were fighting outside an area residence, with one brandishing a knife. Officers from the Ramapo and Spring Valley police departments responded to the scene, and upon arrival, discovered there was no fight, and had never been a fight. Woman Charged With Falsely Reporting Shooting In Hudson Valley
A woman has been arrested and is facing charges after she allegedly falsified a report of a shooting in Northern Westchester, police say. On Friday, Feb. 1 around 11:!5 p.m., New York State Police responded to Lexington Avenue in the town of Cortlandt on the report of a domestic dispute. The caller claimed that the suspect was holding her hostage and actively shooting at her. After further investigation by the State Police, Westchester Police Department, Yorktown Police Department and K9 units, it was determined that no shots had been fired in the area.
