Woman Killed In Head-On Route 9W Crash
A 41-year-old woman was killed during a head-on crash when a car veered into her lane of travel. The crash took place in on Route 9W around 6. p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24 in the town of Athens in Greene County. According to Capt. Tracey Quinn, of the Greene County Sheriff's Office, arriving officers found two vehicles that sustained heavy damage. Man, Two Women Face Drug Charges After Traffic Stop In Region
Three people are facing drug charges after police said a traffic stop in the Capital District led to the discovery of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Troopers in Greene County patrolling Catskill saw a 2006 Ford Fusion traveling east on Allen Street make a traffic violation at about 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, according to New York State Police. Authorities pulled the car over and saw the driver, later identified as 32-year-old Jessica Collazo, of Catskill, walking away from the Ford, police said. Female Suspect From Area Nabbed In Fatal Stabbing Of 39-Year-Old Woman
A Hudson Valley woman has been charged with murder for her alleged role in a fatal stabbing in the region, New York State Police announced. Troopers in Catskill responded to a reported stabbing on Lake Mills Road in Cairo at 1:02 a.m. on Friday, May 14, where there was a woman who suffered stab wounds. Police said that responding troopers located the victim, Cairo resident Crystal L. Nine Orange County Motorists Charged With DWI In State Police Stops
Several Hudson Valley motorists were among 29 drivers busted by New York State Police troopers recently as law enforcement agencies in the area continue a nationwide crackdown on drunk, drugged and distracted driving. Among the local motorists charged include: Orange County On Friday, Sept. 21, State Police troopers from Catskill arrested Tasha Purdy, 27, of Walden, for DWI. Nearly two dozen impaired drivers were busted by state police in Orange and Rockland County over the weekend as law enforcement officials continue their crackdown on intoxicated drivers in the Hudson Valley.
