HS Student Wins $20K In Hudson Valley: 'Will Change World One Day' A high school student from Northern Westchester has received a $20,000 scholarship after being named a 2023 Coca-Cola Scholar.  Matthew Krasnow, a student at Fox Lane High School in Bedford, is one of only 150 students across the entire country to receive the scholarship and was picked out of more than 91,000 applicants, according to the Bedford Central School District.  Krasnow was picked based on criteria such as academic excellence, leadership skills, and services in both school and community activities, school officials said. Details Released On Crash That Caused I-684 Closure, Serious Injuries To Three Children Details have been released following the serious New Year's Day crash that caused the hours-long closure of a stretch of I-684 and in which three children were seriously injured, two of whom were ejected from the vehicle involved. The crash happened northbound on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at around 11:10 a.m. in Bedford. Missing Hudson Valley Man Found Update The 68-year-old man who went missing in Northern Westchester on Monday, Aug. 13 has been found, Bedford Police announced Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 15. A third formal search was conducted for John A. Vasile late Wednesday morning, police said, and Vasile was located - conscious and alert - within the Bedford Village hamlet.
