Authorities tracked down a man and woman wanted in connection with the weekend bank robberies in Port Jervis and Monticello in Virginia, according to the Port Jervis Police Department.

Erin Keppel, 32, robbed the Jeff Bank in Monticello on Nov. 18, as well as the TD Bank in Port Jervis on Friday before making off in a stolen car with Seven Steele, 32, authorities said.

The two then fled south. Authorities found the stolen Nissan Frontier used in the Port Jervis robbery abandoned in Stafford County, Virginia, police said.

Police were able to identify Keppel from security camera footage at both locations.

Keppel and Steele were ultimately tracked down and apprehended at a bus terminal in Fredricksburg, Va.

Keppel was charged with:

  • Third-degree grand larceny and robbery in connection with the Monticello robbery.

Keppel and Steele were charged with:

  • Second-degree robbery and criminal possession of stolen property in connection with the Port Jervis robbery.

The vehicle used in the robberies was stolen in New Jersey.

The defendants also face local charges in the State of Virginia and are awaiting extradition, authorities said.
