Orange Among Several NY Counties Aiming To Sue Big Pharma

ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. – Orange County is now one of nine other counties in New York State who are joining forces to bring litigation against the makers of OxyContin and other painkillers, according to the Times Herald-Record.

Orange and Sullivan counties will now be joined by neighboring Ulster, who announced their intent to join the suit recently. All three counties will enlist the legal services of Simmons Hanly Conroy. The cities and counties who are joining this suit are hoping to use the same strategy several municipalities and states used against the tobacco companies back in the 1990s, the Record said.
