Man Allegedly Tries To Run Victim With Restraining Order Against Him Off Ulster County Road
An area man was arrested after allegedly using his car to menace another driver who had a restraining order against him. Ulster County resident Jake L. Benson of Saugerties, 21, reportedly operated his vehicle erratically in Saugerties on Route 32 on Sunday, Dec. 6, putting the occupants of the victim's vehicle in fear for their safety, said police. Benson was charged with the misdemeanors of second-degree harassment and second-degree criminal contempt of a court order. Ulster County Man Caught Driving Drunk After Swerving, Police Say
Police arrested a 23-year-old man for driving under the influence after he was pulled over for failing to stay in the left lane. Ulster County resident Bernard Murray was pulled over by police on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at approximately 2:12 a.m. in Saugerties on Elm Street. He was charged with misdemeanors for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and a violation unlawful possession of marijuana. Ulster County Man Arrested For Striking Woman On Head, Damaging Door
A Saugerties man was charged with the misdemeanors second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief after a domestic dispute at his home on Post Street, police said. According to Saugerties Police, a 911 call reporting the fight was placed at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7. Police said Alan T. Wojcio, 35, struck his female victim on the head and damaged a door and doorframe in the residence. Wojcio was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and released. A restraining order was issued on the victim's behalf.
