Man Accused Of Smashing Car Windows, Stealing Property In Monticello A 33-year-old man from the region has been nabbed for allegedly smashing windows and stealing property from vehicles. Sullivan County resident Philip A. Jacobs, age 33, of Monticello was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 15, following an investigation into numerous break-ins. According to Lt. Police Issue Alert After String Of Car Break-Ins In Area Law enforcement agencies in the area are cautioning residents to be on high alert following a string of thefts from parked vehicles. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert over the weekend as it investigates multiple larcenies from parked cars that happened late on Friday, July 23 into Saturday, July 24. Investigators in Rockland County from the Orangetown Police Department issued an alert cautioning that between 2:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, a man was caught on several Ring cameras breaking into cars or checking on door handles.
