A new study has revealed just how prevalent cases of so-called Long COVID are among Americans. According to the investigation by Dartmouth College and the University College London, one in seven Americans -- about 14 percent -- had Long COVID by the end of 2022. Long COVID occurs when symptoms of the virus persist for more than three months after the initial infections. Brand-New Rankings Of NY's Wealthiest Counties May Come As Surprise
A new ranking shows how New York counties stack up against one another when it comes to financial earnings. Using data from the US Census Bureau, Stacker compiled a list of the 50 highest-earning counties in New York, ranking them by 2020 5-year estimate median household income. The Hudson Valley is among the fastest-growing regions in New York while the nation’s population is growing at the slowest rate in a century, according to a new report. Saugerties Police Department Hires First Black Police Officer Since Formation In 1929
The Saugerties Police Department has its first-ever full-time black police officer. Department Chief Joe Sinagra said that when now-Officer Dion Johnson interviewed for the position in January, he was the “shining star” amongst 30 candidates. “Two weeks ago I pulled a guy over, I gave him a ticket and he was not mad at all,” said Johnson of his experience thus far. “He said ‘I’ve lived in Saugerties for over 20 years, you’re the first black cop I’ve ever seen — I’m proud to see an African American in the police force here in Saugerties. Though the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has wreaked havoc on retail stores in the entire nation, grocery and beverage store sales skyrocketed to new heights, according to newly released data.
