On Thursday, May 25, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that temporary lane closures on New York State highways will be paused to accommodate holiday travel. The construction will be suspended starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, May 26, and will last through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30. The storm is set to impact the region beginning the night of Thursday, Feb. 3, through Friday, Feb. 4.  Gov. The entire region is expected to see snowfall sometime after 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18. State Of Emergency Includes Ulster, Six Other NY Counties A state of emergency has been declared by Gov. Andrew Cuomo for seven New York counties, including Ulster, as a winter storm continues to impact the region. Cuomo made the announcement on Monday, Dec. 2, as the storm dumped eight to 12-inches of snow in some regions, including the Mid-Hudson.  In addition to Ulster, the state of emergency includes Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Saratoga counties.
