Man From Region Killed After Leading Troopers On Pursuit, Hitting Tree: Police
A 66-year-old Hudson Valley man was killed when he crashed into a tree after leading authorities on a short pursuit in Northern Westchester, police said. According to authorities, an incident occurred on Tuesday, April 30, around 3:40 p.m. when New York State Police attempted to pull over a 2019 Nissan Altima on Route 100 in Somers. The car was allegedly not staying in its lane. 6-Year-Old Airlifted Following I-87 Crash
A 6-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital with severe lacerations following a crash on I-87 in the Hudson Valley. The collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, on I-87 in Orange County in the town of Newburgh. According to Trooper Tara McCormick of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation at the scene determined that a 2022 Toyota Tundra was parked on the right shoulder when the driver, Connecticut resident Peter W. A person has died after jumping from a bridge in the region, causing backups of traffic in the area. Woman Killed When Tree Falls On Car In Area
This story has been updated. A woman was killed after a tree fell on her car while she was driving on a stretch of Route 9 (Albany Post Road) in the area. The incident happened around 3:20 p.m. Monday, July 27 in Dutchess County just south of Mills Cross Road in Staatsburg. The woman, a 70-year-old Red Hook resident whose identity is being withheld while next of kin is notified, was traveling northbound at the time. The westbound lanes were shut down in Northern Fairfield County between Exits 5 and 4 in Danbury early Friday afternoon, July 17. Tractor-Trailer Carrying Blueberries Overturns On I-84
A tractor-trailer driver transporting blueberries was not injured after losing control of his truck and blocking I-84 for hours. The incident took place in Orange County around 5 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, in the town of Wawayanda, near the City of Middletown, when the driver rolled the vehicle, blocking several lanes, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. Truck Fire Causes I-84 Lane Closure
A stretch of I-84 has reopened after tractor-trailer fire. The fire started around 11:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 31 eastbound in Montgomery, said the New York State Police. There were no injuries but the highway was closed for a short time while the fire was extinguished, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Nevel said as of 12:30 p.m., only the one exit ramp lane at Exit 28 is still blocked. An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire.

I-84 Lane Reopens After Disabled Tractor-Trailer Incident
The left lane on a stretch of I-84 has reopened after a disabled tractor-trailer was removed from the highway. The incident happened in East Fishkill at milepost marker 57, between Exit 58 (Ludingtonville Road) and Exit 52 (the Taconic State Parkway) just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. Traffic was reported to be backed up three to four miles. The tractor-trailer was removed just after 5 p.m. There are residual delays in the area.

I-84 Reopens After Rollover Tractor-Trailer Crash
This story has been updated. A stretch of I-84 has fully reopened about 10 hours after a rollover tractor-trailer crash. The crash happened just before dawn westbound in East Fishkill between Exit 58 (Ludingtonville Road) and Exit 52 (the Taconic State Parkway) on Wednesday morning, Oct. 30. The left lane reopened around 10 a.m. The right lane reopened at around 2:30 p.m. A detour had been established at the Stormville rest area.
