Highland Man Caught In Act Stealing Cash At Restaurant, Police Say A 41-year-old man Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly being caught in the act of burglarizing a restaurant and stealing cash. Ulster County resident Shane Burr, of Highland, was charged on Monday, Oct. 2 and charged with burglary and petit larceny. According to the town of Lloyd Police Chief James Janso, Burr, who has 23 previous arrests, was caught after officers responded to a burglary in progress at the Asian Garden Restaurant in Highland. Woman's Body Floating In River Near Mid-Hudson Bridge A woman's body was discovered floating in the Hudson River. The unidentified woman was found in Dutchess County around 10 a.m., Monday, April 10 near the Mid-Hudson Bridge and the city of Poughkeepsie. Sheriff's deputies responded to the area after receiving a report of a possible body in the river near the Mid-Hudson Bridge, said Capt. John Watterson, of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Ulster County resident Crystal Thomas, age 33, of Highland, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 4, said the town of Lloyd Police. According to Chief James Janso, of the town of Lloyd, Thomas allowed her juvenile child to get a large permanent ink tattoo on his body at a hotel in Lloyd. Flowers Are Being Stolen From Graves At Cemetery In Town Of Lloyd, Police Say Authorities are investigating numerous reports of flowers being stolen from a cemetery in the Hudson Valley. Police Searching For Man Who Jumped From Mid-Hudson Bridge In Lloyd Police in the area are searching for a man who jumped off a bridge in the Hudson Valley The incident took place at around 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 13 at the span of the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Ulster County. Highland Woman Killed By Own Vehicle In Driveway Of Home A woman was killed after she was run over by her own vehicle in a freak accident in the area. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, when in Ulster County on Sterling Place in Highland. According to Town of Lloyd Police Chief James Janso, the 84-year-old Highland woman had pulled into the driveway of her residence and exited her car when it began to roll back in the driveway.  The woman attempted to stop the vehicle and was struck by the car.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.  The accident is still under investigation.  L…

Ulster County Man Found Dead In Vehicle, Police Say An area man was found dead in a vehicle on the shoulder of a roadway. The incident took place around 7:39 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, on Upper Grant Street in Highland in Ulster County, when the Town of Lloyd Police responded to a call of a deceased man. When officers arrived on the scene they found a 65-year-old Highland man dead in the driver's seat of his vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway, said Town of Lloyd Chief of Police James Janso. No foul play is suspected.  The cause is death is believed to be natural/medical pending an autopsy report, Janso said.

It happened on Saturday, July 11 in Ulster County at about 3:45 a.m. on Route 9W and North Riverside Road in the town of Lloyd. An investigation revealed that Orange County resident Leon P. Highland Man Nabbed For Allegedly Stealing $1,800 In Jewelry, Police Say A Highland man has been arrested for allegedly ripping off some $1,800 in jewelry. Dominick Teroni Jr., 45, was arrested by Town of Lloyd Police after he was accused of entering another person's home and stealing the jewelry, Town of Lloyd police said. Teroni was charged with felony burglary, grand larceny, and petit larceny. He was arraigned before the Town of Lloyd Judge Eugene Rizzo and is being held at the Ulster County Jail without bail.

Zakeen Johnson, of the Town of Lloyd in Ulster County, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 27, after the task force executed search warrants at addresses in both the Town of Poughkeepsie and the Town of Lloyd, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant coordinator of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.
