A former law student from the region already in federal prison for stealing his college classmates’ naked photos and possessing child pornography will spend even more time behind bars. A Northern Westchester woman who died at the age of 61 is being remembered as a celebrated high school athlete and dedicated mother. Jamie Valentino DeRosso, of Yorktown Heights, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Sept. 14, according to her obituary. Man From Region Sentenced For Stealing Nude Photos, Possessing Child Porn
A former law student from the Capital District will spend the next decade in prison for stealing his college classmates’ naked photos and possessing child pornography. Michael Fish, age 26, of Albany, was sentenced to 111 months (just over nine years) behind bars Friday, May 20, on charges of computer fraud and aggravated identity theft, according to the US Attorney’s Office in the North District. More than 20 students have been suspended by New York University for failing to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines. The data is reported by individual campuses every 24 hours to more efficiently monitor, respond to, and contain the virus, the state said in an announcement on Sunday, Sept. 6. With another 100 new COVID-19 cases confirmed, SUNY Oneonta said it will close campus for the remainder of the fall semester and switch to fully remote learning.
